Today I received a compliment from a friend and colleague (not from work-work) that was both sincerely affectionate and surprisingly accurate:
“She’s hardly ever as big a pain in the ass as she could be.”
I consider the smile it produced on my face during a particularly rotten day my first birthday present of 2007.

During the course of the day, and mind you it was a 7am to 7pm at-the-office-day today, I had
to write, next to my name, 1 Feb. 2007 at least two dozen times**. And every time I did it
my hand stopped and my mind said to me,”It is Meera’s birthday today.” So let me say out
loud now,” It is Meera’s birthday today.” Happy Birthday my love.

There is an audit of the NCC next Tuesday, by the Miistry of Health, and many a policy
document has to be signed for the purpose of the audit.
