Woah.

We were sitting on the couch getting up the will power to brush our teeth after "Lost" tonight when the window. Fell. In. I was facing away from it, and I saw Ross’s face change. "Oh my god!" he said, and a second later there was a great crash and this is what I saw when I turned around.
People, I had been using that exercise bike an hour before.
We are fine (although my very favorite cardi is covered in tiny fine shards of glass and I don’t know if it’ll ever be safe to wear again) and cleaning up now.
Holy CRAP.

Holy CRAP indeed. How amazingly strange. But at least neither of you got hurt and it even looks like it just missed the Bonsai.

Actually, David, it didn’t miss the Bonsai. I’ll post a picture of that tonight. ;-) Horton is just fine, though.
Rani, don’t be silly, he’s lovely. He’s of course paying to have it repaired. It’s just a pain. Hope it distracted you from your sinus pestilence! ;-)

Good heavens! How in the world did that happen? That looks like a mighty newish window.
Glad you are okay. Hope the bonsai pulls through.
Yet another reason not to exercise….

I know, but it wasn’t his fault. :-) I know! 12 days! Woah to that too!!
Sarah, they’re about 8 years old, according to our landlord. Ross thinks that the windows we have are a tiny, tiny hairsbreadth smaller than the frames they are set in, and that if they happen to be pushed over to one side of the frame a little bit as you open or close them, they can separate from the frame juuuuuust enough for the metal clip holding them to the frame to pop out. Or something.
