Working Stiff Seeks Soft Landing Pad
Yesterday we put the big down comforter on the bed for the first time this season. It has a new cover on it which is stripy and colorful, and having an actual bed frame seems to help it stay in place better (oh, yeah—we actually make the bed in the morning now, which is striking proof that twenty-eight years of a habit can, indeed, be changed). Today the lamp we ordered to mount above the bed arrived, and we installed it before dinner, and now the whole bed area looks like this:

Which, besides the fact that our halogen light bulbs seem about ready to burn us alive (they have dimmers; I just turned them all the way up to take the foto), is a pretty nice landing pad for a person who was extremely productive today and deserves a nice spot to crash on. Especially as she is still, in fact, working on something—but only because Ross is doing statistics problems, so she might as well keep him company.

you know i love it, but do you know how jealous i am?
probably not.
i’m waiting on 360 pictures of each room and space in your new place, i’m so proud of you and Ross and all the work you’ve put into it! proud sounds weird, but it’s true! i wish we had the gusto to do the same to our little spot.
buying a chair for my perfect desk today, perhaps then i’ll share a picture of it? it took me a long time, but i found THE perfect desk :)
have a great weekend! xo

I like this picture so much! And of course I love the wall ‘pole’ (don’t know if it’s the right word for it)… I too put the comforter on the bed for the first time of the season today:-(
Pay attention not to fall asleep with the light on… in the morning you could be vaporized! baci

Liz, not only do I owe you an email, I owe you a letter, too! Don’t be jealous; we still don’t have curtains or cushions for the couch or a coffee table or a million other things. And I can’t wait to see what kind of chair you got (and for a clearer picture of your desk)!
Germana, they’re called power lines and I guess it’s an electricity pole? Something like that. We were very very careful to turn down the dimmers all the way before we went to bed and still have all our parts. Phew!
Thanks, mum! Someday you can commission Ross to do them on the walls of Asher and Sophia’s rooms. Heh.
