Symptomatic
I know I’m getting a little lonely when I prowl the Pets section on Craigslist looking for a furry creature to scatter hair into every corner of my apartment, wake me up at 6 a.m. by stabbing me in the skull with its claws and mraaawring in my ear, and destroy the fantasy I harbor that at any moment, I could just up and leave on a holiday to Zanzibar.
We’ll see.

I’m here! I’m lonely too. Let’s be interweb fwends. Oh wait, we already are.
I understand all this implicitly and have to daily yank myself from fantasies of escaping to tropical Southeast Asians islands where the expats overflow in record numbers and the days are spent in warm waters.
But that’s me. How about we meet on holiday?

I agree with Liz… it’s a cat! :-)

Liz, Germana, I try to imagine life with a cat because
a) Ross still needs years of work before he’ll be mentally prepared to become a dog person
b) We’re only allowed felines in this apartment.
I still need to work on temporarily fostering a cat so I can determine the extent of my allergies — hopefully that will happen when we get back from Singapore in January.
Steph — I dunno, it looks to me like you’re always doing stuff with your Korean interweb friends. :-) But we can still meet on holiday. As long as you promise to bring me some Two Two chicken.

Me too! I’ve been thinking about the merits of cats and dogs too. on my way home after a LONG day at work yesterday, i saw this small cat grooming itself. so cute!!!
haha, and let’s not talk about the compatibility of cats with sinus…
my pet owner friends say that dogs will go barmy when we leave them alone too much and that’ll prob happen to any pet i get….

Oops, a piece of advice from a cat owner friend–get the cats youngish, so that they are easier to train and more affectionate.
