!
Frankly, I don’t even know if we’re going to be able to get within striking distance of Grant Park, and for weeks I’ve been telling Ross that he couldn’t drag me there tonight for a million dollars, but this morning a switch flipped in my brain that enabled me to ignore the fact that I HATE crowds more than anything else in the known universe (I think it’s the kind of switch that enables people to have more babies after they’ve been through labor). Therefore, we have officially decided to spend tonight on the streets of downtown Chicago while the election returns start to come in. Maybe we’ll be able to smell Obama. I hear he smells like cologne and hope.
See you tomorrow, my dear dears.

:jealous:
I’m in search of a party, and all I can find is the Daily Show / Colbert Report Election Special.

I am so excited. In Singapore, the moment the election results came out, I received a flood of text msgs…all thrilled that Obama won! Lucky you for being there! :) How was camping out on the streets?

I was crossing fingers too…. It must have been exciting to be in Chicago in such an historical event!

At the mention of Grant Park, on the BBC news that announced the Obama victory as well as the site of the victory celebration, I was reminded of the two trips we made to the same park for ‘Taste Chicago’ and the 4th of July fireworks display, earllier this year. The crowds were tremendous and it was, all-in-all, a rather scary experience. But I would love to be there with you for this victory gathering.
Good luck to both of you and I am jealous as well!
Love

Wasn’t it amazing, the crowd looked ecstatic! I’m glad you were there to see and hear the speech. So happy!

Yeah, it’s a good thing you changed your minds about crowds because all of us wanted to be there!!! I will forever remember 5 Nov 3pm Singapore time because that’s when I received a text telling me Obama won! I was still antsy at 1am Nov 4 Singapore time but told myself to chill and sleep. Was Mei Ann still in Chicago with you???
